FirstRand IHE Delft Water Education
scholarship for an MSc in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft

FirstRand has entered into a five-year partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the largest international graduate water education facility in the world, to allow for an outstanding South African student to undertake postgraduate study at IHE Delft in the Netherlands. This will be the second year of the partnership.


Applications will open on
Friday 15 December 2023 and close on Thursday 7 March 2024.

The scholarship will provide full funding for one student a year to study for an MSc in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.

FirstRand will conduct the interviewing and selection process, which will run concurrently with the FirstRand international postgraduate scholarship programme.

Candidates will be assessed based on academic excellence, leadership ability, community involvement and their potential to be a destiny changer.

Candidates have to apply and be accepted for any of the four thematic tracks:

  • water, food and energy
  • water hazards, risks and climate
  • water and health
  • water resources and ecosystem health

The closing date for applications is Thursday 7 March 2024.
